Air traffic controllers are public speakers?

News

Are air traffic controllers, public speakers? ATCs aren’t public speakers of course, but several pilots who crashed their planes might have wished that the air traffic controllers were public speakers.

Air traffic control is a high stress job. In very busy airports such Atalanta International in the USA p, controllers are compelled to take a break every two hours. They are landing multiple aircraft every minute.

Lives depend not only on the powers of concentration, but also on how old they are, and how they articulate themselves. Their instructions have to be precise.

The following is from flightsafety.org:

  • A flight attendant called the flight deck and told the captain to “turn around” so he turned the airplane back toward the departure airport because he “perceived her comment to mean that the flight was in jeopardy and the aircraft should be turned around and returned to [departure airport].”4 However, she had only wanted him to “turn around” to see that the cabin door had opened and needed closing.

it can be seen that miscommunication can have vast consequences sometimes ending in death and destruction.
